The Clockwork Theatre is pleased to announce the production of Apartment 3A, written by acclaimed actor Jeff Daniels and directed by Owen Smith. Apartment 3A will play a 3-week limited engagement at Off-Broadway's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street) Performances begin Saturday, January 26 through Saturday, February 16. Opening Night is Friday, February 1 at 8PM.

The production features scenic design by Olga Mill, costume design by Jocelyn Melechinsky, lighting design by Joshua Windhausen, and sound design by R. Canterberry Hall & Scott Anderson. Stephanie Cali is the Production Stage Manager.

"Apartment 3A concerns Annie Wilson, a Director of Fundraising at the local PBS station who is left reeling from the loss of what she thought was the love of her life. After moving into a shabby, but conveniently vacant apartment, she searches for a reason to hope again when she meets a next-door neighbor who teaches her what it truly means to be in love forever, and how to have faith in what is to come. Daniels cleverly weaves his unique style of humor into this captivating, charming play," state the press notes.

Apartment 3A plays the following regular schedule through Saturday, February 16: Tuesdays - Fridays at 8PM; Saturdays at 2PM & 8PM; Sundays at 3PM.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. today announced the 2008–2009 season of its Great Performers series featuring 76 live performances – concerts, recitals, dance, theater, and multimedia events – plus an 11-part film series and 23 lectures and panel discussions, running from October 3, 2008 through June 6, 2009:

Russian Dreams: The Music of Sergei Prokofiev — A major, nine-part survey of Prokofiev's music is season-long focus. Valery Gergiev conducts the Kirov Orchestra and Chorus of the Mariinsky Theatre and leads the London Symphony Orchestra for the first time in New York as Principal conductor. Mark Morris' Romeo and Juliet, On Motifs of Shakespeare will have first New York City performances.

New Visions: The Literary Muse offers full-evening works inspired by Cervantes, Kafka, Shakespeare and Virginia Woolf, with U.S. and New York premieres. Featured artists include Mark Morris, Katie Mitchell, Jordi Savall, Peter Sellars, and Dawn Upshaw.

New Music for a New Hall features premieres, commissions, and innovative multimedia works from the London Philharmonic, Ensemble intercontemporain, and Klangforum Wien following reopening of Alice Tully Hall.

Symphonic Masters includes Vladimir Jurowski with the London Philharmonic and Fabio Luisi with Dresden Staatskapelle, in new posts as Principal Conductors.

The Joy of Music: Leonard Bernstein on Film — An 11-part series highlights city-wide Bernstein commemoration in fall 2008.

Bartók Chamber Music masterful interpretations of the complete piano concertos by pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard with the Bamberg Symphony led by Jonathan Nott; and of the complete string quartets by Takács Quartet in three-concert series.

Stellar Tickets - Heath Ledger Dies at age 28

Academy Award-nominated Hollywood actor Heath Ledger was found dead today at 3:30PM Tuesday January 22 in his Manhattan apartment. He was 28 years old. Ledger was found by his housekeeper this afternoon when he was scheduled for a massage-appointment.

"Pills were found in the vicinity of the bed," police spokesman Paul Browne told CNN, "This is being looked at as a possible overdose, but that is not confirmed yet."

Ledger was the father of one child, Mathilda, whom he raised with actress Michelle Williams, before they split-up last year.

Ledger was nominated for an Oscar in his acclaimed performance as a gay cowboy in Ang Lee's film Brokeback Mountain. He recently completed filming the role of The Joker in the up-coming Batman film sequel entitled The Dark Knight, due for release later this year. His last film appearance was opposite Cate Blanchett in I'm Not There.

Ledger burst into the Hollywood scene playing teen heart-throb in 10 Things I Hate About You. Other screen credits include The Patriot, A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, Lords of Dogtown and Casanova.
